Illya Szilak

Illya Szilak is a physician board-certified in internal medicine and infectious diseases. She is a long-time student of Bardor Rinpoche., and in 2011, she participated in the Raktrul Foundation's Medical Mission to Tibet.

Dr. Szilak is a graduate of Weil Cornell Medical College in New York City. Most of her medical career has been devoted to treating underserved populations.

For the last three and a half years she has provided medical care for inmates at Rikers Island Correctional Facility in New York City.

In addition, she is a Peabody Futures of Media award-winning storyteller working in virtual reality.
